Ọkàn is the heart. Courage and stubbornness live in one chest.

When a learner will not open the mouth. When courage is needed, not noise.

Ọ̀kànràn sits in the chest. Teach ọkàn (heart) and ìgboyà (courage). Three closed, one open at the base — heat under a lid. In Ifá literature this Odù warns that a hard heart can also be a brave one. Practise the nasal ọn.
