Ìká is to coil, to be crooked. Speech that can wound. Caution.

When a child must learn that a clever tongue is not always a good one.

Ìká teaches ìwà (character) through the danger of ọ̀rọ̀ (speech). One open mark among closed — a word that sticks out. Teach ìkà (cruelty) beside Ìká so the ear separates the Odù from the insult. Ifá literature here is a school of ethics.
